Regional at Best is twenty one pilots' second full-length album, released independently on July 8, 2011. The album marked the band's first release following the departure of bassist Nick Thomas and the replacement of drummer Chris Salih with Josh Dun. While the album was originally distributed digitally and on CD, it is no longer for sale.
The band also distributed a limited number of promotional copies of the album through music publicizer Tinderbox Music in hopes of gaining radio play. Such copies took the form of a jewel case and included a second disk of songs from the self-titled album. Redditor /u/TehKitteh777 found a promo copy.

Dec 17, 2015 - ToP's second album that's no longer available in the US or something idk, but ye this is Regional At Best (not including vessel songs). Ode To Sleep - Regional At Best Version.
As part of a signing agreement in 2012 with record label Fueled By Ramen, rights to Regional at Best were transferred to the label. Coinciding with the band's label debut Vessel in 2013, RaB was discontinued and is no longer available for purchase or download. It's speculated that Fueled By Ramen decided to pull the album because some songs were re-released on Vessel. Physical copies of RaB are now rare and in high demand. Tyler Joseph successfully negotiated to maintain ownership of the preceding self-titled album, which remains available digitally.

'Lovely' was also re-recorded and originally released as a single exclusive to Japan in April of 2013. It was later featured on Bonus Track versions of Vessel, available in Europe and Asia. 'Glowing Eyes', 'Kitchen Sink', and 'Forest' appeared unchanged as bonus tracks on the U.K. version of Vessel.

On Tumblr, the band replied to a question about the re-recorded tracks, dubbing RaBa 'glorified mixtape' of demos. Tyler Joseph reiterated this take in a Huffington Post interview, where he additionally mentioned that some vocals in the Vessel version of 'Holding On To You' carried over from the Regional at Best version.
